Daybreakers

What is it with all the stories, movies and television series about Vampires? It's like you skip any other TV channel and there's a Vampire show on it. After every dozen movies or so there's a Vampire movie. I suppose it's just something about the whole concept of Vampires that intrigues everybody!

Daybreakers again, is a story about Vampires becoming the majority population on the earth which occurs due to a plague that takes over the whole human race. With only a handful of humans remaining as a resource to feed all the Vampires, it's pretty obvious that Vampires have a survival issue at hand. Vampires search for different ways to farm the last remaining human species so that they could survive in future.

Another group of Vampires want to save the last remaining humans from being wiped off the face of the planet altogether. Humans want to repopulate and survive as well - the natural human instinct - and that's what pretty much happens throughout the movie.

  1. At least it's not Twilight... or another teen-vampire flick.

*Not that there's anything wrong with that, Twilight is a good movie to watch if you want to blow off 90 minutes of your life.*

I can't see the turnout at the theaters for Daybreakers even come close to the turnout for Twilight, what about you?

  2. lol @ the teen flicks.

Yea, it's not going to do as well as Twilight. Because Twilight was just hyped because of the already famous Twilight stories / books / novels among their readers. Plus the actors were all hotties so the movie was bound to be a success.

Twilight 2 wasn't as good as Twilight 1 and I think it's going to be that way with any third installation that comes our way.

Still, I think Daybreakers should do well. It's a very huge plot and the trailer for the movie does seem very promising. Vampires are always popular with people so if the first week goes well then it should be a good climb up the hill.
