I like movies that open the doors towards the realm of magic even though you know they're filled with special affects and stuff that normally 'does not happen' in your every day life.

Still it's fun to watch such movies.

Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage) who is a very cool old time magician from the times of Merlin. He dates back to 740 AD when people were still trying to figure out whether the earth was flat or not. ;).

But in the year 2010 he has his eyes on Dave (Jay Baruchel) a physics student who is attacked by an old enemy, Horvath, apparently they're both after the same thing but for different reasons. Balthazar saves Dave asks him to help in his mysterious ways and teach him magical spells.

A lot of special affects, crazy awesome spells and breath taking events follow plus, Dave gets the girl in the end too, all well that ends well.

So that's a really short summary what happens in the movie.
